“You’re been wonderful and amazing. I’ve kept our discussions at the top of my mind and think about (our coaching) all the time. What changed me and my interactions with my management team was your constant guidance and reminders on how to stay the course. I now feel armed for the next set of challenges.”

- Coaching client Tiffany Borodkin, Manager, Account Retention Unit, PacifiCare

“I respect your opinion and I like the feedback you give to me. This coaching has been the single most important thing I’ve gone through (since transitioning from engineer to manager).”

- Brian Nakasone, Engineering Technical Manager

“As a result of the coaching, I am already seeing that my team management techniques have improved and I am getting positive feedback. The most positive aspect was the ability to voice my concerns and areas of improvement to get an objective assessment. Throughout the session, I was prompted for solutions to the issues I’ve raised – this is more gratifying than having the solution given to me.”

- Connie Chiu, Cisco

One-on-one Coaching

Studies show that training is four times more effective when followed up with coaching.

What is coaching?

Coaching …

  • is results-oriented.
  • helps clients set better goals and then reach those goals through tools, support and structure.
  • focuses clients better to more quickly produce results.
  • is learning through action.
  • is a form of consulting, but the coach stays with the client to implement the new skills, changes and goals to make sure they really happen.
  • is distinct from therapy in that it is future-oriented vs. past-oriented.
  • is focused on the client doing the work, with the coach as support.
  • involves direct feedback to the client.

Our standard coaching package:

  • Intake — two hours, in person if possible. Includes MBTI and values assessment.
  • Two hours of coaching per month; can be 2 x 1-hour sessions or 1 x 2-hour session.
  • Includes phone and e-mail support.
  • If possible, have at least first two sessions in person; then switch to phone.
  • Three months minimum. Six months is more beneficial.
  • Can customize if necessary, including comprehensive 360 degree evaluations.
